Colorado

There is something for everyone in Colorado, with its natural beauty and metropolitan areas. In Estes Park, north of Denver, is the main entrance of the Rocky Mountain National Park. One of the prides of the state of Colorado, the park contains not only the majestic, rock peaks but also lush, green valleys, perfect for backcountry camping, hiking, wildlife watching, and great vantage points to view those awe inspiring mountain tops.

The state also boasts some of the best spots for skiing and snow boarding, with both Aspen and Breckenridge tucked away in the snowy, Colorado mountains. Snug in the foothills lies the University of Colorado in scenic Boulder, home to the Buffaloes.

For the sports fan, the state hosts several professional teams, including the Rockies of Major League Baseball, the Nuggets of the National Basketball Association, the Broncos of the National Football League, the Avalanche of the National Hockey League, and the Rapids of Major League Soccer, all conveniently located in the state's capital, Denver.

Officially located at an elevation of 5,280 feet above sea-level, Denver has earned the nickname the Mile-High City. As a major city, Denver offers many sights and attractions to visitors, including a number of museums, a lively music scene, and a variety of festivals. Outside of Denver is the town of Golden, a must for any beer fan as it is home to two of the state's breweries, Coors Brewery and Golden City Brewery. Colorado, with its picture-perfect scenery and diverse culture, has so much to offer, from a relaxing getaway to a thrilling ski trip to a fun-filled vacation.
